The Apple Diet
Weight loss is not always about refraining from eating food. Because you’re going to end up dead if you won’t eat. This would be so because there are actually some food items out there that are good in reducing a person’s body weight. In other words, you can refer to these things as weight loss food products. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of the line “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. Well, if you’re into losing weight seriously, you can change that into something like “An apple a meal, will surely cut off my flapping flab”.
Eating apples is healthy for a person. Aside from the vitamin C it contains which helps in lipolysis or the braking down of fats into fatty acids to be used for energy, each apple also has about 5 grams fiber in it. Fiber helps transport cholesterol out of the system thereby preventing its build up. In addition, fiber also takes longer to digest keeping us full for long periods. Sugar from apples is also in moderate amount, enough to sustain blood sugar at the right levels that you won’t feel hungry.
The basis of the apple diet is to include a whole piece of apple with each meal, preferably before meals. The idea is that apple is high in water and fiber content which makes us feel full sooner, thus satisfying a person’s hunger.
Researchers from the Pennsylvania State University supported that eating apples prior to meals is a great strategy for reducing caloric intake from the main menu itself. Also, they stated that solid fruit is more filling compared to its juice and concluded that the effort of eating is what tricks our body into thinking that we are already full. Furthermore, it is also much better to keep the skin on. The most essential substances that we receive from apples are just beneath the skin.
Basically, the addition of apples in each meal is the main principle in the apple diet. But if you are interested in gaining immediate results, experts recommend that dieters follow a low-calorie food plan into four to five divided meals per day. There are also some variations in the diet depending on the amount of weight you want to lose.
A good example is the apple cider vinegar diet. Apple cider vinegar is said to help lose weight and improve body figure by increasing satiety. Two to three tablespoons of the highly acidic vinegar must be consumed prior to each meal. Although at present, little evidence covers the validity of the apple cider vinegar diet.
