White sugar body scrub

Image
I admit I absolutely love sugar body scrub recipes. They are dirt cheap (excuse the pun!) and leave the skin cleansed and soft and simply wonderful. Brown sugar is mostly used for scrubs, but this time, Lorie sent us a recipe that calls for white (regular) sugar use.

Oatmeal scrub - Exfoliate and cleanse

Image
Oatmeal is a potent anti-inflammatory agent, used on every skin type and including sensitive/problem skin type that can react badly to various ingredients. This will not happen when you use oatmeal, it is gentle and neutral. Chris M sent us an oatmeal scrub recipe, a recipe similar to other oatmeal skin care recipes but different in that it contains a neutralizing ingredient: baking soda.

Retinol rich mango skin care recipes - body scrub and body butter

Image
Mango skin care might not be the most popular, but it is certainly one of the better ingredients out there. Mango is one of the ingredients that contain Retinol (Vitamin A). Retinol as a molecule is very small and capable of penetrating the skin's outer layer and regenerating the deeper layers that contain collagen and elastin. When it penetrates the skin, it stimulates the production of elastin and collagen resulting is smoother and more elastic skin. Importance of Retinol has been long known about in a form of homemade facial masks.

Avocado body scrub recipe

To prepare an Avocado body scrub you will need:

Glycerin body scrub recipe

Image
We use Liquid glycerin as a skin moisturizer when we don't wish to use oil. This is particularly helpful when we want to scrub nose crevices, without introducing oil to the face. Liquid Glycerin is a by-product of soap making, and can be found at health food stores. Its also readily available on the internet as well. Do a patch test to be certain you can tolerate the glycerin, if you find you have sensitivities. In addition, consider substituting all honey. It never spoils, and makes a good long-term scrub which may be stored.

Creamy, moisturizing lotion bar recipe

This lotion bar recipe is probably one of the best recipes I have seen since starting this site. Sent to us by Sophia, this recipe is so creamy, moisturizing and luscious that it is impossible to resist making it.

Honey Sugar Scrub

1/2 cup sugar enough honey to moisten the sugar, but not melt olive oil, avocado oil or vitamin e oil Mix together until blended. When I made mine, I made it a bit scrubbier than some people would like. If your skin is oily, add some lemon juice; dry skin, add more oil. If, after sitting a while and you go to use it, and find that it turned liquid, just add a bit more sugar to it. Honey is great for the skin, as it's a humectant.

Body Salt Scrub - Salt Scrub Recipe

For the longest time, body salt scrub remained unnoticed due to the popularity of other homemade body scrub, primarily sugar based body scrub. This is a shame since this scrub provides the same amount of exfoliation as sugar scrubs and in addition infuses therapeutic properties that come from minerals sea salt is made of. There are three main ingredients that every salt scrub recipe needs to have in order to yield the perfect scrub:

Body scrub recipes - from warm brown sugar to cleansing strawberry

Image
Body scrub recipes and homemade body scrub in general, meet your skin's needs because you can try out different ingredients and look for best results. Skin will respond differently to different oils and different exfoliating agents.  The rule of thumb is: apply it when you are just out of the shower, and if you are looking to moisturize the skin, apply a moisturizer (body lotion) for best results.  Although avocado and apricot body scrubs and other homemade body scrubs are not as well known as the brown sugar body scrub recipe, they are still wonderful scrubs to use if you want to exfoliate the dead skin cells, and moisturize the skin at the same time.
